Rupert Hunter runs these fun, relaxed & informal mixed golf coaching sessions for golfer’s new to the game, beginners and those returning back to the sport. These weekly “on course” coaching sessions cover all aspects of playing on the golf course including club selection, strategy, rules & etiquette.
Each session consists of 90 minutes golf coaching on the 9 hole golf course at Holtye Golf Club. Our plan is to go out on the golf course for every session but in the event of inclement weather or the course is fully booked we will take advantage of the excellent practice facilities available at the club that include our driving range, putting green, short game area with practice greenside bunker and cover different areas of the game.
The emphasis is about having fun. We tee off from the forward “Blue Academy Tees” (Score card below) which shortens the length of the holes on the golf course and play in relaxed team formats such as Texas Scramble or Greensomes (all that can be explained!) The sessions are held in the evening when the golf course is quieter and not so busy, so there is less pressure from other golfer’s playing on the course. Should faster golfers catch us up we will simply stand aside and “call them through!”
It’s a great way to meet new friends and learn the game!
A sense of humour is a must!
When are the sessions held and how do I book?
Sessions are held from the end of March through to early September when the evenings are light enough to play, on a Tuesday evening – (extra sessions will be added based on demand)
Sessions start Tuesday 7th May 2024 @ 6.30pm
7th, 14th, 21st & 28th May @ 6.30pm
4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June @ 6.30pm
2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th July @ 6.30pm
6th, 13th, 20th & 27th August @ 6.30pm
Each session has a maximum of 4 places

Booking Terms & Conditions:
- A maximum of 4 places are available per session, minimum 2 required to run.
- Should you need to cancel a secured place 48 hours notice is required by email prior to the session running. Cancellations less than 48 hours or “No Shows” will be liable for 100% of the session fee.
- You are welcome to sign up for as many places as you wish. Availability is based on a first come first served basis.
- Adequate wet weather clothing & footwear providing support is required for sessions held during inclement weather (we don’t cancel if it rains!)
